In detail

One curve or many

The Arc Bed is the simplest: one clean curve across the headboard and nothing else, which is why it is the bed most people land on when they search for a curved bed. Arlo and the Portofino lower the frame and widen the headboard into a soft organic shape in bouclé. The Ashford doubles the curve; Solenne splits the headboard into two softly rounded panels, hotel-calm. Then the arches: the Veyra is a full round arch in fan-panelled velvet, the Ellsworth a tall country-house arch in botanical print, the Aveline a gentle camel-curve in linen. The Lorcan wraps a curved wing frame around a toile centre panel.

Why a curved headboard

Straight headboards divide a wall; curved ones sit on it. The shape forgives awkward proportions, from a chimney breast to a sloping ceiling or a window too close to the bed. It flatters small rooms, where it removes visual corners, and large ones, where an arch gives the bed presence without bulk. Curved and arched beds also photograph the way rooms are styled now: rounded mirrors, bobbin lamps, soft-edged furniture.

Built to order in your fabric

Each curved bed is made after you order it in our West Yorkshire workshop. The curve is cut into the timber frame and upholstered by hand, so the line is true from every angle and does not soften over time. Choose from bouclé, velvet, linen and plain weaves, and order free swatches first. Every design is made in single, small double, double, king and super king, several with ottoman storage, and all are delivered across mainland UK in two to four weeks with a five-year structural guarantee.

Curved or wavy?

If you want movement along the top edge, with scallops, waves or a serpentine line, you are looking for our wavy beds. If you want one quiet, continuous curve, you are in the right place. For the wider range, see every upholstered bed we make.

Curved beds: common questions

What is a curved bed?

A bed whose headboard top edge is rounded or arched rather than straight. It includes single-arc designs like the Arc, arched headboards like the Veyra and Ellsworth, and low organic shapes like Arlo.

Are curved beds available in super king?

Yes. Every design here is made in super king, king, double, small double and single, and to bespoke widths.

Which curved bed suits a small bedroom?

A low frame with a wide curve, such as Arlo, the Portofino or the Arc, keeps the room open; a tall arch such as the Veyra suits a higher ceiling.

Can a curved headboard be made taller or wider?

Yes. Headboard height and width are adjusted to your wall, and the curve is redrawn to the new proportions.
