The design philosophy

A mattress that answers to nature

Open each layer to see what it does — and why nature earned its place in three of them.

1 Pillow-top crown The first impression

A raised, pillowed sleeping surface built into the top of the mattress — the immediate sense of welcome you feel in a good hotel bed.

2 Cooling gel memory foam The comfort layer

Memory foam that contours to pressure points, with gel within it that draws warmth away — answering memory foam’s oldest complaint.

3 3,000 pocket springs in seven zones The support core

Three thousand springs, each in its own pocket, responding to you alone; seven zones hold the spine level from shoulder to hip.

The benefits of independent pocket springs

Support you can trust is support that is local: each pocketed spring carries only what is above it, so shoulders sink where they should and hips are held where they must be. The same independence is why a restless partner becomes a rumour rather than an event.

Preserving your investment

A mattress repays the care it is given

Five quiet habits that keep the Arete performing as it did on its first night.

1
Cleaning

Vacuum the surface gently on low power. Never soak, steam or fold the mattress; spot-clean with a barely damp cloth if needed.

Questions, answered

Everything you might still wonder

How does the 60-day home trial work?

Sleep on the mattress at home for up to 60 days. If it is not right for you, contact the studio and we will arrange its return — we would rather you had the right mattress than the first one you tried.

Do I need to flip it?

No — the Tranquility is built in ordered layers and is not designed to be flipped. Rotate it head-to-toe regularly instead, monthly in its first year.

Where it sits within the collection

Every mattress in the collection is built for a different sleeper. Here is an honest map.

This page
Laurel Natural 2500
Nature-led · medium to medium-soft · 28 cm

Choose the Natural for breathable, temperature-regulating comfort in natural materials — the gentlest tension in the collection over the same independent spring engineering. £1,260–£1,740.

Arete 1500
Support-led · medium to medium-firm · 31 cm

Choose the Arete for engineered precision: seven zones of graded support and gel-cooled foam, tuned for spinal alignment and distinctly warm sleepers who want structure first. £704–£944.

Laurel Comforto 2500
Comfort-led · medium-firm · 33 cm

Choose the Comforto for the deep memory-foam welcome: visco cushioning over 2,500 springs, tuned for pressure relief with a firmer hand than the Natural. £824–£1,140.

Tranquility 3000
Hotel-plush · gel-cooled · pillow-top

The Sleep Journal
The honest lifespan of a mattress

Seven to ten years, if it is kept well — the signs it is time, and the habits that stretch the years.

Nature has been perfecting sleep for rather longer than we have. We simply engineered around it.
