How a commission takes shape
The same four movements carry every commission — a single bespoke headboard or a whole bedroom.
The consultation
We begin with your room, not our catalogue — its architecture, how you live in it, what inspires you, and what the piece must actually do.
The drawing board
Your commission is developed with precision — CAD drawings, technical planning, measurements to the millimetre, and revisions with you until the drawing is right. You see your piece, and approve it, before anything is cut.
The workshop
The approved drawing is built once, to its exact dimensions — bespoke engineering, made-to-measure construction, and the judgement of hands that have done this for years.
The installation
The final fitting, in your room — the piece integrated into the wall, the light and the life it was drawn for.

Commissioning a bespoke bed, explained
What is a bespoke bed?
A bed designed and built to your specification rather than picked from stock — your dimensions, your fabric, your headboard height and shape, made to order in our West Yorkshire workshop.
Can you make a bed to a custom size?
Yes. Beyond the standard UK sizes — single (3ft), small double, double, king and super king — we build to your measurements: custom widths, bespoke heights, and frames drawn around awkward rooms, lofts and landings.
How long does a made-to-measure bed take?
Orders generally take 2–4 weeks, because every frame is cut, built and upholstered after it is ordered — nothing is pulled from a warehouse.
How much does a bespoke bed cost?
It depends on size, silhouette and fabric. A commission is quoted after the drawing stage, itemised before anything is built — and our made-to-order collection gives honest reference points for what different designs cost.
Can the headboard be bespoke as well?
Yes — headboards are made to measure in their own right: taller, wider than the bed, wall-mounted, or extended into a full headboard wall. Because bed and headboard leave one workshop, they can be upholstered from the same fabric batch.
What warranty does a bespoke bed carry?
Every bed carries a 5-year warranty covering structural damage, subject to the cause. It does not cover fabric or upholstery wear, normal wear and tear, or intentional damage. A covered fault means the bed is assessed and repaired, or replaced where appropriate.
Will it fit up my stairs and through the door?
Check doorways, hallways, stairs and turns against the dimensions table on this page before you order. If you are unsure, send a photograph of the route to the workshop and we will tell you honestly whether it will fit and, if not, what we can make that does.
Do you assemble the bed?
Complimentary delivery is to your doorstep. Choose room-of-choice delivery (£40) to have it carried to the bedroom, or white-glove assembly (£80) to have it built in place with the packaging taken away. Both are options on this page.
Which mattress fits this bed?
Any standard UK mattress in the same size. The base height in the dimensions table tells you how high the top of the mattress will sit; add your mattress depth to it. Our own mattresses are made in every size to match.
What if it arrives damaged or is not what I ordered?
Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we repair, replace or refund in full and collect from your home at our cost. Photographs help us act quickly.
Can I see the beds before I order?
Yes, by appointment at the workshop in West Yorkshire. Free fabric swatches are posted to your home so you can choose the cloth in your own light before you visit or order.
Can this bed have storage?
Yes. Every bed can be made with a front-lift storage base, built to the same size and fabric as the bed; the whole platform rises on gas struts. Choose it under Storage on this page.
