The top of the range

The Signature Collection, made to order in Yorkshire

The Signature Collection is the top of our range: the wood-framed and headboard-wall designs, and the most substantial upholstered silhouettes we make. Luxembourg, Kaizen, Kyoto and Nara set fabric inside visible timber; Siena, India, Linden, Lorcan, Solenne, Sculpt and Veyra carry the largest headboards in the workshop. Everything else is the same as every bed we make: built to order in Yorkshire in your size and your fabric, with or without a front-lift storage base, and delivered in 2–4 weeks with a five-year guarantee.

Ink & Oat

The house’s own register: deep espresso grounds against oat linen and plaster. Pair a dark velvet headboard with pale bedding and one brass point of light — the room reads calm at midday and candlelit by ten.

Bourgogne & Clay

Wine-dark upholstery warmed by terracotta and sand. Suits north-facing rooms that need heat without brightness; keep timber mid-toned — walnut, never orange — and let the fabric carry the depth.

Moss & Bone

Green-grey calm for rooms that borrow the garden. A bouclé or textured weave keeps the palette from going cold; a scalloped or curved silhouette keeps it from going austere.

Fabric & timber pairings

Velvet asks for restraint in wood — a straight, dark frame lets the pile do the talking. Linen forgives everything and elevates oak especially. Bouclé, the most textural of the three, pairs best with the smoothest timbers: the contrast is the composition. When in doubt, keep fabric and timber at different volumes — one leads, one accompanies.

On lighting the bedroom

Design the room for eleven at night first. One warm ambient source below eye line, reading light exactly where the pillow meets the wall, and nothing overhead after dark. A headboard with integrated lighting solves the bedside lamp’s oldest problem: it lights the page without lighting your partner.

Proportion, briefly

A headboard should answer the wall, not the mattress: taller ceilings can carry taller boards, and a wide wall wants width even behind a smaller bed. Leave more floor visible than you think you need — a luxury bedroom is measured in the space around the furniture.

Upholstered or wooden? Both.

Every guide on the internet frames it as a choice: the softness of an upholstered bed against the structure and permanence of a wooden one. It is a false choice. A wooden frame around upholstered panels gives you the warmth of fabric where your body meets the bed and the definition of timber where the eye reads the room — and the border takes the knocks and marks that fabric edges take worst. What makes a bed part of the Signature Collection?

These are our most substantial designs: the wood-framed and headboard-wall beds, and the largest upholstered silhouettes. Everything else about them is the same as the rest of the range: made to order in Yorkshire in your size and fabric, with a five-year guarantee.

Can a luxury bed be made with ottoman storage?

Yes. Every bed we make can be built on a front-lift storage base. Choose it on the product page and the price updates.

Can I have a bespoke size or specification?

Yes. Bespoke widths, lengths and headboard heights are drawn through the commission studio. Ask before you order and we will confirm the price and lead time.

How long does a luxury bed take?

Each bed is made to order in 2 to 4 weeks, then delivered by our own team. We confirm the date when the bed leaves the workshop.
