Book a free design consultationCurved, wavy and scalloped headboard beds — the soft silhouettes that have replaced the straight-edged headboard in the modern bedroom. From the gentle wave and the scalloped crest to the serpentine curve and the full arch, each bed here is upholstered to order in our West Yorkshire workshop, in your fabric and any UK size from single to super king.
Wave, scallop, curve or arch?
A wavy headboard runs a line of soft crests along the top edge — playful at a glance, calm in the room. A scalloped headboard repeats a tighter, rounder curve, often with a piped edge. A curved headboard bows as one continuous line, and an arched headboard rises to a single crown. All of them do the same job: they soften the largest surface in the bedroom and make the bed read as a designed piece rather than a rectangle against the wall.
Made to order, one silhouette at a time
Nothing here is held in stock. Each headboard is cut to its drawing, padded, and upholstered by hand in the fabric you choose — bouclé, velvet, linen weaves, chenille — with piping to match or contrast. Bespoke widths and heights cost a conversation, not a compromise. Orders generally take 2–4 weeks and every frame carries a 5-year structural warranty. Free fabric swatches are posted first.
What is the difference between a wavy and a scalloped headboard?
A wavy headboard has broad, flowing crests along its top edge; a scalloped headboard repeats a smaller, rounder curve. Both are upholstered the same way — the difference is the line of the drawing.
Can a curved headboard be made to a bespoke size?
Yes. Every bed in this collection is made to order, so width, height and depth can be drawn to your room, including bespoke sizes beyond the standard UK range.
Which fabrics work best on a wavy or scalloped headboard?
Bouclé and velvet show the curve best because they hold a crisp piped edge; linen weaves and chenille give a softer, more relaxed line. Order swatches to compare them in your own light.
How long does a made-to-order curved headboard bed take?
Orders generally take 2–4 weeks from confirmation, because each bed is built after it is ordered.
