Emperor Beds

An emperor bed is 200 cm wide and 200 cm long, a full size up from a super king and the widest standard UK size. Three of our designs are listed in emperor, and many of our other beds can be made in emperor on request.

The Arco upholstered bed with extended headboard, the Siena Wave Bed and the India printed-fabric bed each have an emperor option on their product page, with current prices shown by size. The Arco goes wider still, with Grand Emperor and Alaskan King options and a headboard that can reach 403 cm.

Every frame is cut and built after it is ordered, so many of the designs you see in king or super king can also be drawn in emperor. A super king is 180 cm by 200 cm, so an emperor adds 20 cm of width: room for each sleeper and a headboard that carries a wide wall. Where the room is tighter, the same designs are made as super king beds.

As an illustration only, a 200 cm bed with a comfortable 60 cm walkway on each side takes up about 3.2 m of wall. This is not a fixed requirement: doors, wardrobes, bedside tables and a headboard wider than the bed, like the Arco’s, all change what fits. Each bed is built in our West Yorkshire workshop, upholstered in the fabric you choose from the Fabric Atelier, with an optional storage base. Beds are typically made within two to four weeks and carry a five-year structural guarantee. Delivery options are shown on each product page.

How big is an emperor bed?

200 cm by 200 cm. A super king is 180 cm by 200 cm, so an emperor gives each sleeper an extra 10 cm of width.

Can any bed be made in emperor size?

How long does an emperor bed take to make?

Each bed is made to order in our West Yorkshire workshop, typically within two to four weeks. A design made in emperor on request may have a different lead time, which we confirm before you order.
