Every bed we sell is made to order in our Yorkshire atelier — handcrafted by experienced artisans, upholstered by hand in the fabric you choose, and covered by our five-year structural guarantee.
Living with The Bellagio Channelled Bouclé Bed
Channelling is upholstery's way of drawing lines with padding: each channel is a separate pocket of filling, stitched so the cloth gathers into soft ridges. The Bellagio runs those channels across the headboard and carries the same quilted rhythm around the base, so the whole bed reads as one sculpted piece rather than a headboard with a frame attached.
A low bed makes a room feel taller; a wide padded surround makes it feel generous. The Bellagio does both. The base sits about 30 cm from the floor, the surround extends past the mattress on three sides, and the headboard is broad rather than tall, so the bed settles into the room instead of standing against the wall. Bouclé suits it because the looped weave catches the light differently on every channel.
Calm, warm-neutral bedrooms; loft and low-ceilinged rooms where a tall headboard would crowd the wall; and hotel-style schemes built around texture rather than pattern. In cream bouclé it belongs with plaster walls, oak or walnut bedsides and plain linen.
Keep the bedding pale and unfussy so the channels do the work, and allow the surround its space: this is a wide bed, so check the footprint in the dimensions table against the room before you choose a size. A low bedside at base height keeps the horizontal line unbroken.
For the cream bouclé look as photographed, choose Bouclé in ivory; latte and dove are the warmer and cooler alternatives. Is the Bellagio a bouclé bed?
It is shown in cream bouclé and can be ordered exactly as photographed, but bouclé is a fabric choice rather than a fixed finish. The Bellagio is made to order, so the same channelled headboard and quilted base can be upholstered in any of our 19 fabrics. Order free swatches to compare them at home.
How low is the Bellagio?
The base sits about 30 cm from the floor and the silhouette is wide rather than tall, so it reads as a low-profile bed without being a floor bed: a standard UK mattress sits on the base at a comfortable height. Full dimensions for every size are in the table on this page.
Can I have the channelled bouclé bed with storage?
Yes. Choose the optional front-lift storage base under Storage on this page. It is built to the same size and fabric as the bed, the whole platform rises on gas struts, and it adds £160 to £300 depending on size.
Which sizes is the Bellagio made in?
Single (3ft), small double (4ft), double (4ft 6in), king (5ft) and super king (6ft), each priced as you choose it on this page. Bespoke widths are made on request; speak with a Yorkshire designer and we will draw it for your room.
What does "made to order" mean for my bed?
Your bed does not exist yet. When you order, our atelier builds it — your size, your fabric — from the frame up. That is why it takes weeks rather than days, and why no two are quite alike.
Can you make a custom size or design?
Yes — made-to-measure is part of what we do. Speak with a Yorkshire designer and we will draw it for your room.
How does delivery work?
Doorstep delivery is free across mainland UK, Monday to Friday, with a signature on arrival. Choose room-of-choice delivery (£40) to have it carried to the bedroom, or white-glove assembly (£80) to have it built in place with the packaging taken away; both are options on this page. Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and islands and the Channel Islands are quoted individually before you order. Tell us about stairs and doorways in advance and we will plan for them.
How do I choose the right fabric?
Order free swatches first — we would rather you decide with the fabric in your hand, in your own light, before the atelier cuts it.

How do I care for the upholstery?

Will it fit up my stairs and through the door?
Check doorways, hallways, stairs and turns against the dimensions table on this page before you order. If you are unsure, send a photograph of the route to the workshop and we will tell you honestly whether it will fit and, if not, what we can make that does.

Which mattress fits this bed?
Any standard UK mattress in the same size. The base height in the dimensions table tells you how high the top of the mattress will sit; add your mattress depth to it. Our own mattresses are made in every size to match.
What if it arrives damaged or is not what I ordered?
Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we repair, replace or refund in full and collect from your home at our cost. Photographs help us act quickly.
Can I see the beds before I order?
Yes, by appointment at the workshop in West Yorkshire. Free fabric swatches are posted to your home so you can choose the cloth in your own light before you visit or order.
Can this bed have storage?
Yes. Every bed can be made with a front-lift storage base, built to the same size and fabric as the bed; the whole platform rises on gas struts. Choose it under Storage on this page.
